Award in the "Field Service" category - award ceremony in 10 categories - over 40 providers at the start - multi-stage examination procedure under scientific supervision.

Stuttgart, December 14, 2021 - Arealcontrol GmbH, which specializes in software and hardware solutions for the transport and logistics industry, has won the German Telematics Prize 2022 in the demanding "Field Service" category. The award, which has already been presented for the fourth time, was presented as part of the DEKRA Future Congress for Commercial Vehicles in Berlin.

The "Field Service" category deals with the combination options and the range of functions of telematics. Here Arealcontrol convinced with a particularly broad spectrum: starting with location and tracking, the solution also offers the remote reading of the speedometer data, an upload for individual "points of interest" (POI), an electronic logbook with a booking tool or remote vehicle maintenance (remote OBD). The solution is rounded off by various apps for order management, scheduling, document exchange, chat, working hours and documenting signatures on the electronic delivery note.

"Winning the German Telematics Prize in the "Field Service" category has a very special meaning for us, especially since the multi-stage examination procedure is scientifically supervised and the practical requirements of the jury are taken into account," explains Ulric Rechtsteiner, Managing Director of AREALCONTROL GmbH. "The renewed award of our telematics solution is a great motivation for us to continue to go ahead with innovative ideas in the future."

In the race for the renowned German Telematics Prize 2022, more than 40 telematics systems started in 10 categories. The best solutions were sought in the areas of positioning/tracking, vehicle technology, driver management, trailer/swap body technology, transport, service and asset management as well as field service, bus/public transport and transport logistics ecosystems.

The selection of the winners is under the scientific supervision of Professor Heinz-Leo Dudek, Dean of the DHBW Ravensburg, Faculty of Telematics and the Steinbeis Foundation and a qualified expert jury. The effort involved in taking the exam is extremely high and requires qualified staff to answer all questions competently. The Steinbeis Telematics Transfer Center has developed a special test procedure that also involves evaluating more complex functions and system properties – such as connecting to a transport management system.

Arealcontrol's range of solutions extends from automated time and performance records per vehicle, employee and location to electronic logbooks for pool fleets to solution packages from telematics, transport management and integration of ERP/CRM systems. Customers include transport/logistics, construction, trade and service companies as well as larger fleet operators from many industries.
