Stuttgart / Berlin, October 31, 2023 – Arealcontrol GmbH wins the demanding German Telematics Prize 2024 in the “Field Service” category.

In this category, comprehensive telematics functions for fleet and fleet management as well as for digitalized scheduling and deployment planning with comprehensive order management must be fulfilled. The prize was announced and awarded at the DEKRA Commercial Vehicles Future Congress in Berlin.

The AREALCONTROL solution, consisting of an intelligent portal with private cloud backend, modular telematics hardware for fleets of mixed brands and types, as well as the ArealPilot 360° app for Android, was able to clearly win points in the multi-stage testing process.

Field service is a term that refers to services provided by employees or contractors outside of a company's office or premises. Typical examples of field service include the installation, maintenance or repair of devices, systems or other assets located at customers' or other external locations. Field Service Managers are responsible for coordinating and monitoring the resources needed for field service, such as personnel, vehicles, tools, spare parts and communications

Field Service Management is the process that encompasses all aspects of field service, such as scheduling, assigning, tracking, and billing service orders. Field Service Management requires effective organization and optimization of resources to ensure high customer service and reduce costs. This requires a holistic approach, i.e. a comprehensive approach to digitalization with the aim of extensive automation. This includes functions such as scheduling, deployment planning, order management, as well as fleet and fleet management.

“Especially in the transport/logistics, trades, construction and service sectors, IT and telematics solutions must be easy to use but intelligent in the back end,” emphasizes Ulric Rechtsteiner, Managing Director of Arealcontrol. Ultimately, “the goal is to make work easier through digitalized processes and automation.”
